Gabriella Bianchino obtained a 5-year Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and technologies (2020) at the University of Bari “Aldo Moro”. In 2019, she carried out her Master’s thesis project at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany) in the Prof. Gmeiner’s laboratory. She worked on the development of allosteric inhibitors of β2 adrenergic receptor, for the treatment of pulmonary diseases.
Since November 2020, she started the PhD program under the supervision of Dr. Myriam Seemann, at the University of Strasbourg. Her research is focused on the design of potential inhibitors of the last two enzymes of the MEP pathway (IspG and IspH) from three different pathogens (P. aeruginosa, P. falciparum, M. tuberculosis). The PhD student will also express and purify these enzymes in order to validate the mode of action of the synthesized molecules.
